As Head of Learning at the Australian National Maritime Museum (ANMM), Peter manages a team responsible for all formal (curriculum based) and informal (public programs) learning programs within the museum. Peter has broad experience working within Education systems in Australia, Asia and the Pacific and has particular interest in the education that happens outside the classroom. Peter has experience as a school principal but left the schoolroom to explore learning spaces outside of schools, working with NSW National Parks and Wildlife and now the ANMM. More recently Peter has been involved in the development of digital engagement tools and is excited by the possibilities they present for engaging with places, people and objects from afar.
