Cross-curricular education is becoming more important to educators and communicators across the world. Science communicators are finding themselves in a wide variety of fields unearthing the science in sometimes unexpected places. This talk will explore how the HMB Endeavour was made more accessible to students across Australia and how STEM components were injected into a tour of a historic vessel.

Pippa Hambling is the Virtual Endeavour project officer at the Australian National Maritime Museum responsible for turning the replica of Cook’s historic vessel into a modern virtual experience for school STEM programs. She has extensive experience in developing and delivering science based programs throughout Australia, including for CSIRO and Questacon. Pippa’s original background was in the biological and psychological sciences, before turning to the field of science communication.
